The “Simple Life” costars headed over to Nicky Hilton’s Los Angeles residence to join others in remembering their gal pal who passed away earlier this week.

Teaming up for a post-holiday retail outing, Nicole Richie and Joel Madden were all smiles as they ventured around Los Angeles on Saturday afternoon (December 26). Making the most of the holiday season, Nicole Richie and Joel Madden were spotted at a Christmas party in North Hollywood yesterday (December 13). Joined by their daughter Harlow Winter, the happy couple made their exit to find a gaggle of shutterbugs eagerly waiting for them. The day before, Nicole was in full-on promotional mode as she paid a visit to Bloomingdales department store in Costa Mesa.

After checking herself into the hospital and being treated for pneumonia earlier in the week, Nicole Richie has returned home. Before heading to the Cedars Sinai Medical Center, the 28-year-old had been sick for a week and a half taking to her Twitter, saying, “Ok cold, it’s been 6 days. Lets part ways graciously & keep it moving.” When things did not improve, the actress decided it was time to seek treatment.

Out for a good cause, Nicole Richie and Joel Madden spoke to a small crowd inside the Karsten Neighborhood Resource Center at a ceremony to open the Richie-Madden Children’s Playground on Thursday (October 22).
