It was hard to say goodbye to the “ Oprah Winfrey ” show yesterday, and it seems that a record number of viewers felt the same way. According to a report, the ratings for the final episode were the highest they’ve been in 17 years, since 1994’s “People Shed Their Disguises” show.

In the June 2011 issue of O Magazine, Oprah Winfrey shares some of her memories over the 25 years she’s hosted “The Oprah Winfrey Show.” The new issue features two covers as well as a conversation between Winfrey and her editor-at-large Gayle King. Regarding the early years of the show, Oprah shared, “The first few years when the staff was still less than 12 people, I used to hang out with them because we were doing live shows, and we’d be done by 10 a.m.

She’s been the talk show queen for two and a half decades, and Oprah Winfrey is finally winding down her uber-successful show. According to a report, Winfrey has announced that “The Oprah Winfrey Show” will air its final episode on May 25th.
