But Weezy claims he relied on sizzurp as he became more famous — saying he needed the drink to help him cope with the pressure of being a celebrity. Wayne insisted he quit using the stuff last year — and in the video he explains he no longer needs it because, “I’m not sick anymore.” As for Pimp C — he died from an accidental sizzurp overdose in 2007.

Making fans wait a little bit longer for his highly-anticipated forthcoming album, Lil Wayne has moved back the release date of “Tha Carter IV.” The hip hop phenom has once again pushed back the debut of his newest musical effort, delaying its release, which was supposed to happen later this month (June 21). According to Young Money President Mack Maine’s talk with MTV, Weezy is “still perfecting a few things, he’s a perfectionist … changing a few lines,” adding, “If you calculate all of that, by the time we would’ve finished mixing, we wouldn’t have met the [original] due date to turn in the album.” Lil Wayne’s record is now scheduled to drop August 29.
